Nish Fonseka

Coordinator, Study & Stay PEI

Born and raised in Sri Lanka, Nish and her husband moved to Prince Edward Island in December 2021 to follow her life’s ambition of studying abroad. Nish pursued a Master of Education in Leadership in Learning with a focus on Global Perspectives and graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island in May 2023. She is a graduate of the Study & Stay PEI program. Nish also possess a Bachelor’s degree in Studies in English as a Second Language from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Her background is in teaching English Language and Literature, and she has over 9 years’ experience as an educator in Sri Lanka and Canada. Her knowledge and expertise in working with students from diverse backgrounds has helped take the Study & Stay PEI Program to new horizons in her role as Program Assistant. Nish also coordinates the Student to Professional Program and manages the Study & Stay PEI Mentorship Program.
