Immigration Consultation Series

From March to May 2024 the Study & Stay PEI Program hosted a series of immigration consultations for international students. These online sessions took place every Tuesday evening from 6pm to 7.30pm for a period of 7 weeks and were led by a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant.

All of the international students participating in the Study & Stay PEI Program are committed to staying and working in PEI after graduation. However, this is not as simple as it sounds and graduates need to navigate multiple immigration pathways at both the federal and provincial levels whilst staying on top of changes to immigration policies.

At each session the Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant conducted an in-depth review of an immigration policy or pathway. The different topics for the in-depth review were selected by the international students in advance and related to barriers or obstacles they were experiencing. Topics included the Post Graduate Work Permit, applying for permanent residence with families and relatives, work experience required for different immigration streams and recognition of qualifications obtained outside Canada, the Atlantic Immigration Program, Express Entry, the Provincial Nomination Program and federal immigration streams. With new immigration policies being introduced at both the federal and provincial levels, these sessions proved to be extremely popular with international students and have provided crucial support.
